Chiropractic Care
The practice of chiropractic focuses on a relationship between the structure of the body and the nervous system. The first step is taking a comprehensive health history, followed by a complete chiropractic, orthopedic, neurologic and physical examination. The exam may include palpation (examination by touch), x-rays, and range-of-motion and strength testing.
If an adjustment is recommended as part of your treatment, one or more of the following methods may be used depending on your condition: Activator, Thompson, Trigenics Technique, Cox flexion/distraction; and Gonstead, full-spine diversified, and extremity adjustments. An adjustment may not be necessary on each visit.
Dr. Tollen may use therapeutic modalities such as electric-muscle-stimulation (TENS), Graston Technique, Low Level Laser Therapy, ultrasound, ice, moist heat, and massage. Exercise or a stretching program may be prescribed to enhance your care.
